In the heart of Exmoor

This incredible holiday home is situated in the heart of the Exmoor National Park, Europe’s first International Dark Skies Reserve. From many of its rooms, you have breath-taking views of the local moors, and you can take advantage of the direct access to the park for wonderful, refreshing walks no matter what time of the year you are staying. Stabling and turn out are also available for guests with horses who want to experience riding the rugged open moorlands of Exmoor.

If you are lucky when staying at Exmoor Farmhouse you may also spot some of the native wildlife, such as the red deer and Exmoor ponies, so make sure you always have your camera close to hand!

Where is Exmoor Farmhouse?

Exmoor Farmhouse is situated just outside the Exmoor village of Withypool, which lies on the banks of the River Barle. The village, which is surrounded by open moorland is home to a small village store and post office, a tea rooms, and a great pub, The Royal Oak, which is known for its good food and local ales.

Things to do when you stay

From Withypool it is possible to walk along the Two Moors Way or enjoy a riverside stroll down to Tarr Steps. Another notable walk includes the one to the beautiful Landacre Bridge where you can enjoy a picnic beside the river before a refreshing paddle in the beautiful clear waters.

Fishing can also be arranged in the local area, as can horse riding and several water sports at the nearby Wimbleball Lake. Other activities and things to do include climbing at some of Exmoor’s spectacular sea cliffs, experiencing a safari across the National Park and cycling. Alternatively, you can visit Exmoor Zoo, Exmoor Falconry and Animal Zoo, Tropiquaria and the West Somerset Railway.
