The beautiful seven-bedroom Exmoor Farmhouse is a home-away-from-home for not only families but also groups of friends. This stunning, tastefully decorated house, which has been finished to an extremely high standard comfortably accommodates up to 14 and is surrounded by gorgeous gardens.
The dog-friendly holiday home is set over two floors, with the living quarters downstairs, and all bedrooms upstairs. Many of the rooms are south facing and take advantage of the magnificent Exmoor views. The house also benefits from underfloor heating.
Guests arrive into a large entrance hall at Exmoor Farmhouse where there is ample space for hanging coats and storing welly boots – there is even a radiator located below the coats to aid in their drying!
The entrance hall leads to the main central corridor from which all the ground floor rooms can be found. There is also a central entrance hall with fireplace, which has double doors leading to the front garden.
Situated just off the entrance hall is the handy utility room, which is equipped with two washing machines, a tumble dryer, and a large airing cupboard with shelves and rails. There is also a butler’s sink.
One of the first rooms you will discover at Exmoor Farmhouse is the gorgeous countryside kitchen, where character and style beautifully combine to create a wonderful place to cook or enjoy breakfast with friends and family. The large room has been finished to a very high standard and is fitted with everything you will need for self-catering, including a large electric cooker with warming oven and induction hob, four dishwashers of varying sizes and a very handy pantry where the fridge/freezer can be found.
Also, in the kitchen is a big wood table to seat at least six and two coffee armchairs perfect for reading the paper. There is also direct access to the rear garden and a fire for chilly winter months.
The incredible dining room is a stunning feature of Exmoor Farmhouse. The floor to ceiling windows, and the glass-fronted doors that lead out to the terrace beautifully capture the breathtaking views of Exmoor.
The bright and spacious room has everything you could wish for formal dining or celebrating a special occasion. There are two tables, one long table able to seat up to 10 and a second round table seating an additional four guests. There is also a door leading through to the kitchen, making it easy to serve meals.
In the winter months, a fire can be lit in the dining room to create a lovely cosy atmosphere.
The formal living room located towards the far end of the house is a great place for everyone to gather. The triple aspect room with far reaching views over Exmoor has plenty of comfy sofas and armchairs for relaxing, as well as two tables for playing card or board games.
The main feature of this room is the large fireplace, which is a real bonus for those guests staying in the winter months, especially over the festive season. If enjoying a holiday at Exmoor Farmhouse in the summer, a door leads directly from the living room to the rear garden and terrace.
Nestled between the dining room and main sitting room is The Snug, a cosy place for teenagers or adults to watch TV. The room has great views over Exmoor and features a large flat screen TV with Blu-ray player.
Opposite the kitchen is the games room, which is a firm favourite amongst guests staying at Exmoor Farmhouse. The spacious room has table tennis, table football and a range of other board games available to use.
A staircase to the first floor can also be found located in the corner of the games room.
Next door to the living room is the study, which has his and hers desks and wonderful views of the local countryside. The study also acts as a library with a great range of books, and as a quiet place to enjoy the peace and quiet that Exmoor Farmhouse provides.
The downstairs cloakroom is stylishly decorated with feature wallpaper. It is fitted with a wash-basin and a loo.
The stunning Master Bedroom at Exmoor Farmhouse is one of the biggest highlights for this gorgeous house. The large and spacious room with vaulted ceilings and wood beams has windows on three sides, and its views are truly breath-taking.
The room is split into three with one side featuring the king-size bed, the middle is the setting for a comfy sofa, and finally, the other side is home to the en-suite bathroom, which has a roll top bath, a separate walk-in shower, a wash basin and a loo.
The first double bedroom accessed via the main staircase is a quirky room with a sloped ceiling. The cosy room has a double bed and a chest of drawers. Like the other rear facing rooms, it overlooks Exmoor.
Situated along the main first-floor corridor are two bedrooms, the first of these is a good-sized double, which has feature wallpaper, a large window for enjoying the views of Exmoor and plenty of storage space, including a built-in wardrobe.
Next door to the double bedroom is a pretty, twin bedroom, which has been tastefully decorated with shades of blue. It overlooks Exmoor and has two full-size single beds. Like the other rooms at Exmoor Farmhouse, it has wood floors and benefits from underfloor heating.
There are two family bathrooms located on the central first-floor corridor. The first of these has a large walk-in shower, a wash basin and a loo.
The second family bathroom located next door to the first features a wonderful roll top bath, a comfy chair, a wash basin and a loo.
The first bedroom located at the top of the rear staircase is a large twin with two full-size single beds. The bedroom, which is situated at the front of the house has a big window with views of the garden, as well as plenty of storage space.
Next door to the twin bedroom is a nice sized double bedroom. This quirky room with feature wallpaper has a character alcove where the bed is located, as well as contemporary artwork and antique furniture.
The final family bathroom is situated between the last two double bedrooms and is equipped with a bath, complete with a hand-held shower attachment, a loo and a washbasin that has two mirrors overhead.
Almost rivalling the Master Bedroom for style is the last double bedroom. This stunning room with vaulted ceilings and wood beams contains a king size bed, which if needed can be split into two singles and enjoys lovely views of Exmoor.
Exmoor Farmhouse is surrounded by gardens, and there really is somewhere for everyone to get away and enjoy the peace and quiet of the rural setting.
The main terrace is accessed via the living room and has a table and chairs, as well as a BBQ. There are also sun loungers, deck chairs and wood benches that can be found hidden around the top garden level.
Down a few steps from the first garden tier is a level lawn area ideal for playing games, this stretches right around the house and is perfect for families. Further steps lead to another level where goal posts have been set up. From here you can walk down to the garden boundary.
At the front of the house, where another entrance to the house can be found is another section of level lawn, that leads to the driveway where several cars can be parked. Follow the driveway back towards the lane and you will soon discover the onsite stabling, which guests are welcome to take advantage of for a small additional cost (please request stabling at the time of booking).
